Informazioni generali sugli anelli del Sentiero Etnografico - English

Il Sentiero Etnografico è stato realizzato recuperando percorsi esistenti e organizzandoli in anelli che permettono il rientro al punto di partenza in modo circolare.

Gli anelli percorribili sono quattro, ciascuno dedicato in modo particolare all'unità paesaggistica corrispondente: la val, i pradi, el bosc e la montagna.

Questa struttura è stata pensata per ottenere sia una differenziazione dei temi che illustrano la vita della comunità di Caoria, sia una varietà di proposte corrispondenti a lunghezze, difficoltà, tempi di percorrenza, e allestimenti diversi.
Vengono così fornite le informazioni a chi si accinge a percorrere il Sentiero, rendendogli possibile una scelta “personalizzata”, consapevole e motivata del proprio itinerario e della sua durata, in base alle proprie esigenze ed interessi.

Avvertenze generali

Il Sentiero Etnografico si percorre a piedi, come per secoli , ogni giorno, ha fatto la gente di Caoria.
Prima di iniziare a camminare vi consigliamo di informarvi sulle caratteristiche, i tempi e le difficoltà dei percorsi. Lo potete fare consultando la cartina e la guida allegata in distribuzione presso i centri visitatori del Parco, o chiedendo informazioni alla Casa del Sentiero Etnografico a Caoria. Potete percorrere il Sentiero da soli o prenotarvi per una visita guidata. Sul Sentiero troverete acqua in abbondanza, ma non cibo.

Scegliere il proprio percorso

In base al tempo a disposizione e ai vostri interessi potete scegliere leggendo le informazioni che seguono di percorrere solo un anello, di abbinarne più di uno, o di costruirvi un vostro itinerario speciale.
A chi ha poco tempo si consigliano l'anello de la val, la visita alla Casa del Sentiero Etnografico e possibilmente anche Prà de Madego, dove un fienile restaurato ospita mostre temporanee a tema.

Per avvicinare la storia e la vita della comunità di Caoria e per entrare in contatto diretto con il suo paesaggio culturale abbiamo scelto la forma di un lungo sentiero, composto di molti tratti, che sono solo una minima parte della rete che collegava monti e valli in lungo e in largo. Il tema della mobilità è quello che meglio rappresenta i modi di sopravvivenza collaudati nei secoli dalla gente di Caoria. Troverete alcune decine di sagome in legno che illustrano i movimenti degli uomini, delle donne, dei bambini e delle bestie, le attrezzature e i carichi trasportati. Troverete alcuni cilindri del tempo su cui sono sintetizzati, per le varie unità paesaggistiche, gli spostamenti giornalieri, settimanali e stagionali.
Chi desidera approfondire questo ed altri temi legati alla vita della comunità, potrà visitare gli allestimenti etnografici interni ed esterni (aperti tutto l'anno) e le mostre temporanee a tema, che si rinnovano nel tempo.
La segnaletica apposta sul Sentiero è essenziale e discreta. Si limita ai cartelli di ingresso, distributori di cartine, indicatori di direzione di diverso tipo a seconda del supporto, e cartelli illustrativi per gli allestimenti, lasciando alle carte e ai testi cartacei il compito di dare maggiori informazioni.
Come riconoscimento nella segnaletica troverete sempre il logo del Sentiero etnografico con il simbolo dell'Ecomuseo del Vanoi.

Oltre gli anelli

Oltre e assieme agli anelli esistono molte altre possibilità, luoghi, tracciati, torrenti, alberi, edifici e cose da scoprire. Si possono percorrere i tratti di sentiero che sono segnati in verde sulla carta, si può esplorare il versante delle Fiamene basse, o quello dei pradi di Valzanca, magari facendo ritorno a valle scendendo dall' anello della montagna per il sentiero panoramico che passa per Comedon de sora e Pian de Cason. Si può giungere al Sentiero Etnografico scendendo dall'alto, arrivando da San Martino di Castrozza o dalle Fosserniche o compiendo la traversata del Lagorai.
Ricordarsi che il pernottamento va comunque sempre prenotato.

How the circular routes work

The Ethnographic Path has been made by recuperating existing trails and organising them into loops so walkers can return back round to their starting point.
There are four loops with each one specifically dedicated to a different landscape: the valley (la val), the mid-mountain meadows (i pradi), the woodland (el bosc) and the mountain (la montagna).
This division was used in order to not only show the different themes that illustrate the life of the Caoria community, but also to have different lengths of walks with a different level of difficulty, different times needed to complete them and to see different exhibits.
Information is given to people intending to walk along the Path, making it possible for them to choose a “personalised” trip. So we hope that being both knowledgeable and motivated in having ones own made to measure itinerary; knowing its length according to ones own needs and interests will make the experience more enjoyable.

General information

The Ethnographic Path is covered on foot, walking, as has been done every day for centuries by the people of Caoria. Before you start we advise you to obtain information about its characteristics, distances, times and the difficulty of each route. This can be done by consulting this map, looking through the attached guide and also by asking for information at the House of the Ethnographic Path in Caoria. You can be independent and walk along the Path alone, or book to join a guided visit. Along the Path you will find plenty of water but no food.

Choosing your own route

Depending on the amount of time you have and your interests; after reading the information below you may choose to walk round only one of the circular routes or to combine more than one loop or even organise your own personalised itinerary.
For those of you with little time we advise you to walk the valley route, visit the House of the Ethnographic Path and if possible go up to “Prà de Madego”, where a renovated hay barn houses temporary, themed exhibitions.

Mobility and Signposting

To understand the history and life of the community of Caoria and enter into direct contact with their cultural landscape we have chosen this idea of a long path or trail. The Path has many sections that are only a small part of the network that linked the mountains to valley, both horizontally and vertically. Mobility is the theme that best represents the methods of survival tried and tested over the centuries by the people of Caoria. One continually comes across references to this theme along the path, reminding the visitor to remember, to imagine and put themselves in the shoes of…..
You will see forty square carved wood reliefs as you walk, that illustrate the movement of men, women, children and animals; their tools and equipment and what they transported. You will find “time drums” where the different types of landscapes and the daily, weekly and seasonal movement of people is reproduced.
Those who wish to know more about this and other themes linked to the life of the community can visit the inside exhibits, the outside exhibits (which are open all year) and the temporary themed exhibitions.
The signposts along the Path give the essential information and have been carefully made to blend in with the landscape. They are limited to notice boards at the starting points, map dispensers, direction markers and illustrated boards for the exhibits. Maps and leaflets are available for further information.
So you recognise all signs lookout for the logo with the symbol of the Vanoi Eco-museum.

Other possible itineraries

There are together with our routes many other possibilities, places, trails, streams, trees, buildings and endless things to discover. You can walk along sections of the path marked in green on the map, you can explore the slopes of “Fiamene basse”, or the meadows of “pradi di Valzanca”, or maybe on your return to the valley, down from the Mountain Route, take the panoramic path that goes across “Comedon de sora” and “Pian de Cason”. One can join the Ethnographic Path from the northerly trail down from San Martino di Castrozza, or from Fosserniche, or after crossing the Lagorai range of mountains.
